Premier League: Manchester City whoop Burnley FC 5-0

The match was Manchester City's second since the Premier League resumed after their first match ended in a 3-0 trouncing of Arsenal FC, and they followed up their second in similar fashion as they overpowered Burnley FC 5-0.

The first goal of the match arrived in the 22nd after young Phil Foden scored a 25-yard strike into the right bottom corner. His second goal in as many days having also scored against Arsenal FC last week Wednesday.

The second goal was scored by Algerian winger Riyad Mahrez after he latched on to a beautifully weighted pass from Fernadinho and scored across Nick Pope with his weaker right foot.

The pacey winger also converted a penalty to give city a 3-0 cushion just before the break as Burnley's Been Mee was adjudged by the VAR to have been a fraction late in his challenge on Sergio Aguero. Although, Nick Pope went the right way, taking nothing away from the penalty though.

Captain and Club Legend David Silva was not left out as he latched onto an assist from Bernardo Silva after a beautiful reverse pass from Phil Foden to score the Citizens fourth goal of the day.

Bernardo Silva's low cross was touched on to the path of Phil Foden by Gabriel Jesus and the 20 year old tucked the ball away with relative ease as he completed the 5-0 route that he had started in the 63rd minute.

Facts from the game:

* Sergio Aguero hobbled off after the penalty incident. We hope it's not a serious injury
* During the match, Burnley issued a statement to strongly condemn those responsible for a plane flown over the Etihad Stadium carrying a banner that read "White Lives Matter Burnley".

What's next?
City travel to Stamford Bridge for a tricky tie against the Blues, while Burnley welcome Watford to Turf Moor
