AC Milan 5-1 Bologna:Rossoneri move up to 6th place after home win

Alexis Saelemaekers and Ismael Bennacer both scored their first goals for the Rossoneri as they beat Bologna to move up to 6th place in the table.

Saelemaekers put them in front and Hakan Calhanoglu took advantage of goalkeeper Lukasz Skorupski to double their lead as Milan played with a lot of swagger in them.

Takehiro Tomiyasu pulled one back late in the first half, but two goals from Ismael Bennacer and Ante Rebic in the space of eight minutes all but secured the win for Pioli's side, as David Calabria made it 5-1 in the closing stages to ensure an emphatic win for Milan.

Milan started the match on the front foot and they were in front after 10 minutes as Ante Rebic showed great trickery before backheeling for Theo Hernandez, whose cross was shot into the far corner by Saelemaekers after a good dummy by Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Rebic came close before Skorupski gifted Milan the second goal, the keeper's attempted clearance allowed Calhanoglu to double up for Milan just 24 minutes in.

Milan were rampant and Frank Kessie hit the post before Bologna pulled one back, courtesy of a good finish by Tomiyasu, who cut inside and fired into the top corner from 20 yards out.

Milan continued to dominate after the break and Bennacer scored after being set up by Calhanoglu. While Rebic turned sharply before finishing with his left foot after he was set up by Ibrahimovic in the 57th minute.

Kessie had a shot cleared off the line and Federico Santander was unable to convert an indirect free kick inside Milan's box.

Calabria put the icing on the cake as he rounded off a brilliant move that also involved Rafael Leao.
