Aston Villa 0-3 Manchester United: Pogba score as United sink Villa

Paul Pogba scored his first Premier League goal in 15 months as Manchester United set a record with a 3-0 victory at Aston Villa.

Ole Gunnar Solksjaer's side became the first team to win four consecutive matches by 3 goals or more as they extended their unbeaten run to 17 matches.

Bruno Fernandes converted a controversial penalty after he was adjudged to have been fouled by Eric Konsa in the box, and the decision was also backed by the VAR.

Mason Greenwood scored his fourth goal in three matches after an Anthony Martial pass. Paul Pogba picked out the bottom corner of the net from a Fernandes corner to make sure United kept chase of the top four.

What does it mean? United continue in fine form

Villa had good opportunities to get the opening goal but once United went ahead contentiously only one team looked like winning.

United are two points behind third placed Chelsea and one behind fourth place Leicester City, and they still have to play the Foxes, in such form it is hard imagining them not finishing in the top four.

Brilliant Bruno

The impact Fernandes has had since his January move has been immense and the playmaker had another very good outing today.

He has now had 28 goal involvements in 27 matches this season with both United and Sporting CP, scoring 15 and providing 13 assists.

What's next?

United next host Southampton next week Monday, while Villa will see the visit of Crystal Palace as a more realistic chance of picking up points on Sunday.
