Burnley 1-1 Wolverhampton Wanderers:Chris Wood's late penalty dents Wolves Champions League aspirations
Chris Wood scored a late penalty as Burnley claimed a late 1-1 draw at home against Wolves.
Wolves first chance came in the 11th minute as Raul Jimenez sent a header towards goal but it was saved by Nick Pope. Romain Saiss also had an opportunity to score but he sent his header wide of goal.
Burnley's Jay Rodriguez was picked out by a long ball but his connection was poor and he sent the ball wide. Diogo Jota could have easily scored but after he was found by Daniel Podence his finish left a lot to be desired.
Wolves were piling on the pressure and Adama Traore missed a good chance to score from a Romain Saiss delivery. Another Wolves chance went as Nick Pope brilliantly saved Ruben Neves' long range shot. But after all the pressure Wolves opened the scoring through Mexican striker Raul Jimenez as he volleyed the ball into the back of the net.
Burnley also had a chance but James Tarkowski's header in the 79th minute went wide.
