Crystal Palace 2-3 Chelsea:Abraham strikes decisive blow in five goal thriller

Chelsea moved up to this place in the Premier League with a thrilling 3-2 win at Selhurst Park.

The Blues went ahead through goals from im form duo, Olivier Giroud and Christian Pulisic, with both goals being assisted by Willian.

Giroud scored in consecutive games in the 6th minute of the match,as Chelsea pounced on an error from former captain, Gary Cahill.

The in form American Pulisic as he doubled the lead in emphatic style, before Wilfred Zaha wonder strike kept the visitors on their toes.

Abraham's neat 71st minute finish was followed by a top in for Christian Benteke,but Hodgson's men lost their foirth successive game as Scott Dann,was denied by the post at the end.

Palace's day went from bad to worse as Gary Cahill went off injured, as Pulisic scored from 12 yards out after another Willian assist.

But Palace gave themselves hope with Zaha scoring gloriously from 30 yards out.

Abraham's precise finish from a neat Loftus-Cheek pass seemed to have put the game to sleep but Chelsea switched off and Patrick Van Aanholt laid the ball on a plate for Christian Benteke.

However, Palace almost came back to level as Scott Dann hit the post after great work from Wilfred Zaha.

What does it mean? Chelsea hunting down the Foxes

The top Four race is very tight as Chelsea's win put them five points ahead of 5th place Manchester United. With wolves also still very much in the race.

Reunion to forget for Cahill

Cahill won two Premier League titles and the Champions League with Chelsea but his reunion with his old club was one that he'll like to forget soon as he was not to blame for the opener as bad luck saw him get injured at the wrong moment.

Chelsea head to Bramall Lane to face Sheffield United on Saturday, while Palace travel to Aston Villa the next day.
