Cristiano Ronaldo scored a brace, as he became the fastest to reach half a century of goals as Juve edged past Lazio 2-1 at the Allianz Stadium.

Juventus took the lead in the 51st minute as Ronaldo converted from the penalty spot, after Bastos was adjudged to have handled in the area and the Portuguese maestro duely put the ball into the bottom right corner.

The former Real Madrid player reach the milestone in just 61 matches in the Italian top flight.

Ronaldo scored his brace after good work by Paulo Dybala to go through on goal before he slotted the ball into the path of Ronaldo, who netted into an open goal.

The Portuguese captain had a chance to grab his hat-trick and the match ball but after a brilliant Dybala cross he nodded the ball on to the woodwork with Thomas Strakosha beaten.

While Immobile converted a penalty in the 83rd minute after he was fouled by Leonardo Bonnuci in the box.

The Turin based team now look on course for a 9th consecutive Serie A title after they dominated Lazio who have now gone five matches without a win, as their title hopes may have just be ended by Maurizio Sarri's side.
