Newcastle 1-3 Liverpool:Champions end season in thrilling fashion as they claim come from behind victory
Liverpool reached a club record tally of 99 points in the Premier League as they claimed a 3-1 come from behind win at the St' James' Park.
The Reds who lifted the PL trophy on Wednesday after their 5-3 victory over Chelsea went behind courtesy of Dwight Gayle's opener in the first minute of the match.
But Virgil Van Dijk equalised before Divock Origi ended his goal drought since December before Sadio Mane came off the bench to score as Liverpool finished on 99 points just one shy of Manchester City's 100 points from two seasons ago.
Newcastle took the lead as Allan Saint Maximin won a free kick that was played into the path of Gayle from Jonjo Shelvey as he sent the ball past Alisson.
Liverpool were dominant from there on but Martin Dubravka had to save well from a Takumi Minamino effort, before Alisson had to be focused to field a Federico Fernandez shot at the other end.
But with Liverpool's main attacking trio on the bench, Virgil Van Dijk stepped up to nod an Alex Oxlade Chamberlain cross above Dubravka in goal.
Klopp brought on Salah, Firmino and Mane as the second half started slowly but it was Divock Origi that scored Liverpool's second as he sent a shot through a swarm of bodies before deceiving Dubravka and finding the right bottom corner.
After the substitutions were made Mo Salah's first influence was to flash a powerful shot off the post.
While,Sadio Mane put the game to bed with a trademark goal as he cut in from the left before he curled beyond Dubravka's reach to put a cherry on top Liverpool's impressive PL season.
