Sassuolo 3-3 Juventus:Juve's title ambitions suffers setback in thrilling draw

Juventus saw their lead at the top of the Sere A table cut down to seven points after an entertaining 3-3 draw at Sassuolo.

Danilo and Higuain put them 2-0 up inside 12 minutes, before Filip Djuricic pulled one back, and Domenico Berardi levelled matters six minutes after the break and then set up Francesco Caputo to hand the hosts the lead, only for Alex Sandro to steal a point for Maurizio Sarri's men.

Danilo opened the scoring as he bent home from Miralem Pjanic's low delivery from a corner kick to the edge of the area and Gonzalo Higuain then profited from a sublime through ball by Pjanic as Higuain converted on the half volley.

Wojciech Szczesny produced brilliant saves to deny both Mert Muldur and then Berardi but he could do nothing to stop Djuricic from finding the top right hand corner after more good work from Muldur.

Szczesny did well to hold a drive from Berardi as Sassuolo continued to press, with Ronaldo seeing a chance to restore Juve's two goal lead in first half stoppage time deflected over.

The hosts drew level in style as Berardi superb free kick left Szczensny with no chance from the edge of the area.

The remarkable turnaround for the hosts was completed when Berardi's ball across the face of goal found Caputo to tap in at the far post.

Adrien Rabiot nodded wide and Cristiano Ronaldo shot straight at Consigle but Alex Sandro made no mistake in converting from Rodrigo Bentancur's corner to draw Juve level.

Consigli denied Ronaldo from close range and at the other end Szczensny had to be at his best to deny Hamed Junior Traore, with Alex Sandro clearing the follow-up from Jeremie Boga in a fittingly frantic finale.

What's next?
Juventus will next face Lazio on Monday while Sassuolo visit Cagliari on Saturday.
